WELCOME TO
GURU HARKRISHAN EDUCATIONAL SOCIETY

Guru Harkrishan Ji healer of sorrows of the people, the second and younger son of Guru Har Rai Ji, the seventh Guru of sikh faith was born in A.D.1656. Guru Har Rai feeling His end approaching, thought of successor. He always felt the Ram Rai, His elder son who was plotting and struggling for the Guruship, was unworthy, it must be left to some holy person. Harkrishan, though appointed eighth Guru at the age of five years three months, gave promise of a docile spirit and acute intellect.

Guru Harkrishan Ji was a saviour, deeply concerned with lessening the sorrow and suffering of the mankind. He shared with them all and everything he had. From Him they received unremitting sympathy, love, solace and help in their basic needs. He opened the doors of His heart to men of all faiths hindus, muslims, Christians and others.

This humanitarian aspect of the character of Guru Harkrishan Ji was emphasized by Guru

Gobind Singh Ji in His Quote Contemplate the spirit of HARKRISHAN seeing whom all sorrow and suffering is dispelled. These simple words portray the Bala Pir Bringing comfort and consolation to the victims of cholera and small pox in Delhi. Guru Harkrishan Ji got infected with small pox while serving patients of small pox and breathed His last in A.D. 1664

Inspired by this humanitarian aspect of the character of the eighth Guru GURU HARKRISHAN EDUCATIONAL SOCIETY was founded in the year 1986 for helping needy students pursuing professional education without any distinction of caste, creed, religion or domicile.
